HOW IS IT FEBRUARY AND WHERE IS THE NEW EPISODE??

Hello friends!

Welcome to the February edition of “Haunted House Flippers explains why the episode is delayed”.  

This is going to be a relatively short post because the news is brief.  Obviously, we are a bit behind in getting any new content out to you, but it IS in progress.

So, here’s what happened.  A few months back, we all hunkered down and recorded a bunch of episodes over the course of a few days.  All of that went great… until I attempted to edit and discovered that there was something wrong with Janet’s recorded audio.  Despite Melissa having her mic essentially turned all the way up, the audio was incredibly quiet. 

To put in perspective, I usually have to do about a  +/- 3 to the audio level of each cast member, just to balance the volume.  I had to adjust Janet’s lines by over +25.  This meant that anything Melissa said quietly, was completely inaudible, and anything that was audible was now distorted.  I tried my best to make this work, but unfortunately, it meant needing to not only re-record all of those episodes, but I needed to figure out what was going with her mic set up… so I went the easy route and just delivered a new one.  However, this was right around the time that we got a blizzard that dumped about 3 feet of snow on us and we all had to deal with that.

Mix that with being adults with adult lives, adult jobs, adult families, and other adult hobbies, and you’ll understand why it was hard to find the time to get the recordings done.

All that said, Melissa and I got together recently and got everything recorded, and honestly, outside of the tech issues, I’m glad we did.  The recordings are better and wow did we get some great outtakes!

So now… the editing process has begun.  I am going to get the next episode out as soon as I can.  I’ll keep you all updated on progress in the Discord. 

In other news, the topic of ads/monetization has come up a few times and I’ve made a final decision.  I am not going to run ads on the show, on any platform.  Instead, I am going to reopen the Patreon for those of you who want to support us with a monthly recurring subscription, and a ko-fi for anyone who wants to throw us a few (thousand) bucks once in a while.  

Will there be rewards for Patreon?  Maybe.  I like the idea of giving rewards… but in practice, it’s hard since it’s really only me doing this.

We are planning to get some new merch up very soon as well, so keep an eye out for that.
